HLTOUT010 Communicate in complex situations to support health care

  • This is a nationally recognised course.
  • This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to address significant challenges in the context of the health care service. They will learn how to communicate with patients, colleagues, health providers, and ambulance service callers in a range of situations, using both verbal and non-verbal interactions.

  • This course is a refresher for established sports trainers to review core concepts and taping techniques.
  • PLEASE NOTE: This course requires the student to submit three (3) videos demonstrating the correct taping technique for: a) Thumb, b) Knee, and c) Ankle.

SISSSCO015 Preparing participants for sport competition

  • This is a nationally recognised course.
  • This course will provide individuals, particularly those in community-based coaching roles in the Australian sports industry, with the necessary skills and knowledge to aid participants in preparing for sports competitions. This includes researching and selecting suitable competition opportunities, devising competition strategies, supplying pre-competition information, and accessing support staff and resources.
  • This is a constituent unit of the SISSS00118 Sports Trainer Level 1 skill set. Should the student decide to complete the skill set within 6 months of completing this course, the student will only need to complete the outstanding units, due to modular recognition applied in Training Desk.

HLTWHS006 Manage personal stressors in the work environment

  • This is a nationally recognised course.
  • This course is designed for individuals who work in high-stress environments such as emergency services, healthcare, and other demanding sectors, particularly where shiftwork is a feature of the role. Students will learn about the causes and effects of workplace stress, identify personal stressors and triggers, strategies for managing short- and long-term stress, develop a personalised stress management plan based on their interests and needs.

Non-accredited: Driver and Road Side Safety Course for Learner Drivers

  • This is a non-accredited full online learner driver safety course available to learner licence holders to gain awareness of driver and roadside safety, including basic first aid requirements in an event of a crash/ emergency.
  • PLEASE NOTE: This course does not meet the requirements for ACT learner licence holders, to satisfy a component of the required driving hours for an ACT provisional licence.
